Meet Valerie

Valerie is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping adolescents and families navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and find a path toward healing and emotional well-being.

With experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, self-harm, and family relationship challenges, Valerie understands that life can sometimes feel overwhelming. She believes that no one should have to navigate those challenges alone and that everyone deserves a safe, welcoming space where they feel heard, valued, and understood.

Valerie’s approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and personalized to each individual’s unique needs. She incorporates evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and family therapy, to help clients develop healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, build confidence, and create meaningful, lasting change.

At the heart of Valerie’s work is the belief that healing begins with connection. She prioritizes building genuine, trusting relationships with her clients and creating an environment free of judgment, where individuals feel comfortable being themselves. Whether helping a teenager navigate difficult emotions, supporting a family through challenging circumstances, or empowering someone to overcome personal obstacles, Valerie meets each client with patience, understanding, and encouragement.

Valerie recognizes that beginning therapy can feel intimidating, which is why she takes a gentle, supportive approach from the very first session. She encourages clients to move at their own pace while working together to establish meaningful goals and celebrate progress along the way.

Valerie’s goal is simple: to help every client feel supported, discover their inner resilience, and recognize that positive change and healing are always possible.

At Journey Psychiatry & Behavioral Health, Valerie is committed to walking alongside individuals and families as they build healthier relationships, develop emotional resilience, and move toward a brighter, more fulfilling future.
