A Bit About Kelsey:
Though Kelsey is a psychiatric nurse practitioner, her initial mental health training was as a psychologist. She completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas in 2009 with specialties in neuropsychology, pediatrics and eating disorders. She has extensive experience working at all levels of care across the lifespan and developing treatment programs. After a decade of experience as a psychologist, Kelsey was inspired to go back to school during the COVID-19 pandemic seeing the need for integrated medical and psychiatric care. She completed her accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University in 2022 and followed by her Master of Science in Nursing from St. Thomas University in 2024.
Kelsey's clinical focus is on treating the whole person rather than just focusing on a diagnosis. She is skilled in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, DBT, CBT, motivational interviewing, person-centered, and interpersonal process work, but she thinks it is most important to simply have a partnership to talk about anything without fear of judgement. She has been featured in media outlets including TIME, Teen Vogue, Forbes, Today.com, Women’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Washington Post, Huffington Post, and more. She also serves as a medical reviewer for Everyday Health and bpHope, and is co-author of the children’s book focused on emotional expression.
Kelsey is passionate about helping individuals to find their voice and to become the best version of themselves! She sees children, adolescents and adults.
