Jadah Carrera
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI)
Hello! I’m Jadah, a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) in Florida who provides individual therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. I earned my master’s degree in Social Work from Florida State University in May 2025. I am committed to creating a supportive, safe, and therapeutic environment that fosters insight, emotional growth, and meaningful behavioral change. I have experience providing school-based therapy services to youth and adolescents, where I have supported clients navigating academic stressors, behavioral challenges, emotional difficulties, peer conflict, family-related concerns, and trauma-related symptoms. In addition, I also have a background as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in both home and school settings, which has allowed me to work closely with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and neurodivergent individuals, including those diagnosed with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
My clinical background has provided experience working with a wide range of presenting concerns, including grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, emotional and behavioral challenges, interpersonal difficulties, and neurodevelopmental disorders. I strive to create a therapy space that feels safe, authentic, and nonjudgmental—where clients do not feel pressured to “have it all together”, empowering clients to explore their experiences authentically and work toward meaningful healing and growth.
My clinical approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused therapy, and trauma-informed practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I work collaboratively with clients to increase emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, improve interpersonal effectiveness, and challenge maladaptive thought patterns that may contribute to distress. My therapeutic style balances validation, honesty, and gentle challenge while helping clients build insight, confidence, healthier boundaries, and emotional resilience.
When not in session, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, exercising, watching movies, or taking long walks with my dog, Finley! I believe healing is not about becoming a completely different person, but about feeling more connected, secure, and grounded in who you already are. I look forward to working with you!
