Michelle “Shelly” Johnson

APRN, PNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

Michelle (Shelly) Johnson is a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Primary Care and Psychiatric Mental Health, providing integrative mental health treatment for children (ages 6+), adolescents, and adults up to age 50. With over 12 years of experience as a nurse practitioner in pediatrics and psychiatry, Shelly brings both clinical depth and a compassionate, whole-person approach to care.

Shelly has worked in outpatient psychiatry, pediatric primary care clinics, and a pediatric psychiatric residential facility. She has also taught bachelor’s-prepared nursing students in pediatric and psychiatric medicine. For the past five years, she has served in an outpatient setting, refining her expertise in medication management and comprehensive mental health care.

Her approach is personalized and evidence-based, integrating education, medication management, therapy, and complementary modalities. Shelly is certified in nutritional psychiatry and incorporates the connection between nutrition and mental health into treatment planning when appropriate. She believes that individualized care leads to meaningful symptom improvement, restored mental health, and lasting wellbeing.

Shelly earned her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree from Azusa Pacific University in 2014 and completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification at Florida State University in 2021.
